Lawsuit Likely In Dispute With Nevada School Superintendent

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A dispute over misconduct allegations by a Nevada school superintendent is likely to result in a court case.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reported Thursday that the Washoe County School District board will decide Monday whether to fire Superintendent Traci Davis.

Davis denies she is responsible for a leak of documents related to an investigation into special education department leaders.

Davis and officials from the district in the state's northwest corner expect the case to move to a courtroom.

Her attorney says Davis is prepared to file a lawsuit immediately following the special meeting if she is fired for cause.

The school board president says there is substantial evidence of "egregious negligence."

The case would be heard and the outcome determined by a judge without a jury.
