Fire Officials Warn Of Very High Fire Danger In Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe fire officials are warning residents of “very high fire danger” as a Red Flag Warning takes effect from 1 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Thursday.

Winds around Lake Tahoe, including Mono and eastern Alpine counties in California, could gust up to 40 mph, and up to 70 mph on slopes and ridges. 

Burn permits are suspended for outdoor residential burning and campfires in the North Tahoe Fire Protection District and the Meeks Bay Fire Protection District.
