In the wake of deadly school shootings this year, the Washoe County School Board made its intentions clear Tuesday not to arm its teachers or school staff.
The school board passed a resolution saying the arming of educators is incompatible with the district’s mission of educating students in a safe and secure environment.
The resolution also calls on Nevada legislators to increase funding for school safety and for more school police officers.
