300 Inmates Granted Parole Are Still Locked Up

The Nevada Department of Corrections reported this week there are about 300 inmates who are still locked up in Nevada prisons who have been granted parole.

At a Board of Prison Commissioners meeting, NDOC said these inmates are still there because of issues with the transition plan, administrative hold-ups or lack of appropriate housing.

The Nevada Independent reports Nevada’s struggle with a backlog has been persistent – with 365 offenders serving out parole in prison in 2014.
