Couple Engaged After Surviving Las Vegas Mass Shooting

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Las Vegas couple that met in the aftermath of the October mass shooting is happily engaged.

KSNV-TV reports Shawna Bartlett and her fiance Steve Cady met on a Facebook support group for singles who survived the Oct. 1 shooting where a gunman killed 58 people and injured hundreds during the Route 91 Harvest Festival.

Cady proposed to Bartlett on April 12 during an All-Star Guitar pull concert.

When she was invited to come to the stage, Bartlett says she was expecting to get recognition for her work in survivor support groups but instead Cady got down on one knee and asked her to be his "beautiful, crazy, forever," a reference from a Luke Combs song.

Bartlett says she never expected anything like this to come from such a tragic night.
