Victoria Seaman Ends Congressional Bid

Republican Victoria Seaman announced she is ending her bid for Congress.

The move comes just days after President Donald Trump urged fellow Republican Danny Tarkanian to jump into the race.

President Trump tweeted that it would be good for Tarkanian to run for Congress, keeping Dean Heller’s Senate seat unopposed in the Republican party.

Hours after the president’s tweet, Tarkanian ended his bid for Senate and filed to run for Congress.

Seaman announced her candidacy in August, making her one of the first candidates to do so for Nevada’s Congressional District 3.

In a statement released Thursday, Seaman said she was worried that a competitive primary could be harmful to the eventual candidate.
