University Of Pennsylvania Removes Wynn's Name From Campus, Revokes Honorary Degree

The University of Pennsylvania is the latest institution to respond to the sexual misconduct allegations against Steve Wynn.

In a letter to students and staff, the president of Penn University Amy Gutmann announced the executive decision to remove the name Wynn’s name from both a scholarship fund that he established as well as a student common area.

The university also decided to revoke Steve Wynn’s honorary degree. It simultaneously announced the revocation of Bill Cosby’s honorary degree.

In the statement, they said it has been a century since the University of Pennsylvania last revoked an honorary degree. Wynn is currently under investigation by both the Nevada and Massachusetts Gaming Commissions.
