A new report has ranked Nevada as the state with the second-highest rate of women murdered by men.
The annual report provided by the Violence Policy Center took data from all the states from 2015, and found Nevada has a 2.29 homicide rate per 100,000 females, second only to Alaska, which has 2.86 per 100,000.
For Nevada that means 33 females were homicide victims at the hands of men in 2015. Out of the 20 years the Violence Policy Center published this report, Nevada has appeared in the top 10 for 19 years.
Other states in the top 10 include Louisiana, Tennessee, South Carolina, Arkansas, Kansas, Kentucky, Texas, New Mexico and Missouri.
