Report: Home Sales Up More Than 10 Percent From Last Year

A new report says Las Vegas may have more home sales this year than it’s seen in a long time, despite a shrinking inventory of houses.

Buyers grabbed 3,142 single-family homes in Southern Nevada last month, according to the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors.

That number is up 10.6 percent from last year. The median sales price of a home was $260,000.

The number of available houses has been taking a nose dive since last year, amid increased demand, and a large number of rental homes that were purchased after the market crashed.
