Report: Las Vegas, Reno Among Top Cities For Job Gains

Las Vegas and Reno have seen some of the nation’s biggest job gains since the beginning of the year, compared with the same time last year.

Governing magazine compiled the latest federal jobs data for all metro areas with workforces of at least 100,000. Both of the Nevada cities made the top 20 list of the 223 metro areas, growing about 3.4 percent.

The focal point for job growth in Reno has been the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center, which is home to Tesla and soon to be Google, Amazon, and Apple. The report shows that gains for Las Vegas can be attributed to a rebounding gaming and tourism industry as well as construction.
