MGM Resorts International CEO Jim Murren says President Donald Trump’s plans for immigration and the budget present a threat to the travel industry in the U.S, according to The Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Murren spoke out Wednesday in New York City, where he was a guest speaker at the NYU Hospitality Conference.
He entreated the Trump administration not to cut funding for Brand USA, a group that promotes travel to the U.S. from other countries.
Murren also talked about the president’s ban on travel to the U.S. from six majority-Muslim countries, which is currently before the Supreme Court. He said that while Las Vegas and MGM properties have not been hurt by the ban so far, he has heard anecdotal evidence that the ban has hurt U.S. tourism in general.
