Plans for Valley Electric Association to sell its high-voltage electricity transmission line have been put on hold temporarily.
The Pahrump Valley Times reports it's due to the change in administration in Washington after the election of President Trump.
The $190 million deal to sell the line to a Chicago company has to be approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, but the board only has two commissioners out of the five it needs to be full.
As a result, the commission has no quorum, and cannot vote on decisions before it.
Once the sale closes, members of the utility co-op will get a check for almost $600.
VEA also lowered rates at the start of this year with the sale pending.
