Holiday Parade In Downtown LV Attracts Thousands

One of the nation’s most popular Martin Luther King, Jr. Day parades was held in downtown Las Vegas this morning, with thousands of people on hand to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The parade included floats, exotic vehicles, marching bands, dancers, public officials and more.

Meanwhile, it was expected to be a busy day at Red Rock Canyon, where entrance fees were waived for the holiday.

Jay Bartos joined Nevada Public Radio in 1993 to develop and manage the state’s first radio reading service for people unable to use standard printed material due to blindness or another disability. After the reading service was discontinued in 2011, he became the afternoon host on KNPR for ten years. Jay can now be heard on air on News 88.9 KNPR and Classical 89.7 KCNV throughout the week.
How is Las Vegas' healthcare system really doing, and what does it mean for you and your family? Desert Companion's Health Issue takes a deep dive into these questions and explores how heart-centered business leaders prove that doing good benefits the bottom line.
