Solar Plant Capable Of Generating Power At Night Now Online Near Tonopah

There’s now a new plant running near Tonopah that can store solar energy and generate power day or night.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports electricity from the Crescent Dunes Solar Energy Plant is now being directed to Southern Nevada homes. NV Energy is currently the facility's only customer.

SolarReserve, the project’s California-based owner, says Crescent Dunes is the world's first utility-scale solar facility with a fully incorporated energy storage system.
