The BLM is preparing what it is calling an emergency horse roundup in White Pine County, starting this Monday.
The Elko Daily Free Press reports the roundup will take place in the BLM's Ely district.
Up to 50 horses will be removed from an area between Pioche and Eagle Valley, and a further set of up to 50 horses will be removed from an area west of Caliente in the Oak Spring Summit.

BLM officials say the horses will be sent to Utah for adoption, and that the roundup should be complete by the end of next week.
