LV City Council Approves License Fee For Ride-Hailing Companies

Las Vegas City Council has approved an ordinance mandating ride-hailing companies pay a license fee.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the measure passed today with four votes in favor to two against.

Bob Coffin and Steve Ross voted against the measure.

Mayor Carolyn Goodman did not vote, as she is at a conference in Washington.

The ordinance would mandate companies like Uber and Lyft to pay a $50 fee for each active driver on their rolls over a six-month period.

The fee would be assessed on a twice yearly basis.
