CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson is planning post-debate campaign events in Carson City and Elko next week.
The retired neurosurgeon announced he'll stop at the Carson City Community Center on Wednesday for a 2 p.m. speaking engagement. Doors to the 700-seat venue open at noon.
He'll then fly to Elko for a 6 p.m. speaking engagement at the Elko Convention Center. Doors to the 600-seat conference room open at 4 p.m., and attendees are asked to leave weapons and metal accessories at home because of security screenings.

Carson is one of several candidates who have announced campaign events before or after the CNN Republican debate, which is scheduled for Tuesday at The Venetian resort.
