Southern NV Companies Get Tax Abatements

Five new or expanding southern Nevada businesses have been granted more than $25 million in tax abatements for programs that state officials say should create benefits including more than 230 new jobs.

Abatements approved Thursday by the Governor's Office of Economic Development went to firms including Las Vegas-based data storage center Switch Ltd. and Henderson battery manufacturing plant K2 Energy Solutions. They were overshadowed Thursday, though, by a $1.3 billion incentive award to Tesla Motors, in Northern Nevada.
