Many More Nevada Kids Are Living in Poverty

The latest Kids Count report is out with mixed news for youth in Nevada.

Kids Count data book is a state-by-state effort to track the well-being of children. It measures indexes such as child deaths and poverty levels. The latest figures, which cover up through 2012, show the number of children living in poverty in Nevada rose 8-point-4 percent. Some improvements include a reduction in kids dropping out of school and a decrease in teen pregnancy. The child death rate also dropped between 2011 and 2012.
