Proposal To Bet On Elections Shot Down

One thing gamblers won't be able to do is bet on federal elections. On Tuesday a committee on technology and gambling shot down a proposal to allow betting on things like the presidential or senatorial elections.

Democratic state Senator Tick Segerblom brought the proposal before the legislative panel. A similar bill died in the 2013 legislative session. Segerblom says he believes allowing wagers on federal elections could bring millions to the state. He says he will bring it back before the legislature next February.
