The Huntridge Theater in Las Vegas is getting a chance at new life with the help of a million dollar grant.
The Las Vegas Centennial Commission voted Monday to give the city of Las Vegas the grant for the preservation of the historic theater. Supporters of the Huntridge have spent months trying to raise money to preserve the theater. It has been in disrepair since it closed in 2004. At one time, the Huntridge Theatre was the valley's premier movie theater and hosted several concerts.
The city council must now vote on the issue.
