Dealing With Bullies At Clark County School District

There’s a new report from the Clark County School District that lays out a plan to combat bullying.

School administrators, staff and police have spent the last couple months reviewing district policies and state laws regarding the issue. From that they came up with a series of policies and regulations they hope will help reduce bullying.

One change for example - principals must now investigate all claims of bullying - then contact the parents of children involved the incident. The report also recommends training for central administrators, principals, deans, counselors, teachers and coaches.

The district has been the center of much criticism for its failure to deal with bullying issues including the case of seventh grader Haylee Joy Lamberth of White Middle School who committed suicide after being bullied.
