The concept of "social capital" is tied closely to building healthy communities. Commentator Robert Fielden says social capital is a key to the development of cities like Las Vegas.
But to do so means we have to contribute to this community in ways that make it better. Fielden says, "there's no better way to increase social capital than volunteering, giving society time and energy while helping others."
