LAS VEGAS (AP) — Clark County officials plan to open daytime cooling stations in the Las Vegas area Monday through Wednesday to provide relief from high temperatures expected to range up to 114 degrees.
An excessive heat watch issued by the National Weather Service from Monday morning through Wednesday evening includes parts of southern Nevada, southeastern California and northwestern Arizona.
Six cooling stations are planned at recreation centers and other facilities in Las Vegas in addition to three recreation centers in Henderson.

Arizona cities in the watch area include Kingman and Lake Havasu City and those in California will include Barstow and Twentynine Palms in California.
