UNLV Honors College Dean Could Be Name Acting President

The dean of UNLV’s Honors College could soon become the acting president of the university.

The Nevada Board of Regents has scheduled a vote on whether to name Marta Meana as the acting leader of UNLV as part of a special meeting on June 4.

Nevada System of Higher Education Chancellor Thom Reilly is recommending Meana for the position after consulting with regents Chairman Kevin Page.

Meana joined the psychology department in 1997 and was named dean of the Honors College in 2014.
