UNLV Jazz Ensemble in concert
UNLV’s Jazz Ensemble 1 will perform works from their new CD, Dreamlike. The music was written/arranged by UNLV music faculty, current students, and alumni.
They'll be joined by guest vocalists Laura Taylor and Don Cunningham and trombonist Isrea Butler, the new director of the UNLV School of Music. The ensemble directors are Dave Loeb and Nathan Tanouye.
They tied for first place in the Graduate College Large Ensemble category in the 2023 Downbeat Magazine Student Music Awards and their previous CD received "Grammy consideration."
