Funded by a Nevada Arts Council Grant with support from the National Endowment for Arts, this solo exhibit of seven large oil paintings explores the seven principles of design according to Gestalt Theory. Gestalt theory, developed in 1920s Germany, contends that our brains must make meaning out of the seeming chaos that surrounds us, and that it does so in predictable ways. Daniella Etel Courban is a Las Vegas-based artist focused on abstraction with a studio in The Arts Factory called Open Art Las Vegas. She is also a part-time instructor at UNLV, teaching design and life drawing.
