Korean Calligraphy Art Association Exhibit
Korean Calligraphy Art Association Exhibit
This exhibit features the paintings and calligraphy of James Kim and members of the Korean Calligraphy Art Association. The works are composed of watercolor and ink, and “created in the spirit of the ancestors.” With traditional ink-wash paintings, a great range of tonalities can be found in a single brush stroke. Once a stroke is painted, it cannot be changed or erased. This makes ink-wash painting a technically demanding art form requiring a great deal of skill and concentration.
On exhibit at Sahara West Library from May 19 through August 9.
Gallery reception on May 21 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
