Kodo is going on their 5th decade as a performance act, and they still haven't failed to bring life to The Smith Center stage. Their name in Japanese refers to their will to play drums with the "hearbeat" of a child. To celebrate their 40th anniversary, they've put together two new works inspired by their name itself: Tsuzumi for the drum element, and Warabe for the child element. Their unique sound brings a soulful rhythm and allows the audience a glimpse of traditional Japanese drumming.
