Henderson Symphony Orchestra Season Finale: Celebration of America
Henderson Symphony Orchestra Season Finale: Celebration of America
Under the direction of Music Director and Artistic Advisor Taras Krysa, the program will feature three exciting and iconic American works that celebrate the energy, spirit, and diversity of American music.
The concert opens with John Adams’ thrilling Short Ride in a Fast Machine, one of the most popular contemporary American orchestral works. Full of energy and excitement, the piece reflects the American spirit of innovation, progress, technology, and movement. The second piece on the program is Aaron Copland’s Four Dance Episodes from Rodeo. These well-known movements capture the spirit of the American West — its beauty, challenges, humor, and optimism. Together, Adams, Copland, and Bernstein showcase the brilliance and variety of the American symphonic tradition and the incredible sound of the modern orchestra.
This concert also celebrates the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States and serves as a preview of the Henderson Symphony Orchestra’s exciting 40th anniversary season next year.
