Downwind: Documentary Film Showing and Panel Discussion

Downwind: Documentary Film Showing and Panel Discussion

The Nevada Test Site saw over 900 nuclear tests during its heyday. Among those most affected were the people (and animals) living downwind of the tests who were exposed to radioactive fallout. This documentary examines the short-term and long-term results of that exposure. After the film, there will be a panel discussion with directors Mark Shapiro and Douglas Brian Miller, as well as Ian Zabarte, Principal Man of the Shoshone Nation. Opening remarks will be given by Congresswoman Dina Titus (D-Nevada), who wrote a respected book about the testing.
