In 2016, the people of Standing Rock Indian Reservation formed a coalition of unprecedented magnitude to defend their land and water from the threat of the Dakota Access Pipeline. This documentary is a chronicle of that fight, featuring Indigenous activists, organizers, and politicians.
They discuss the #NoDAPL movement, illuminate the interconnectivity among the issues facing Indian Country today, and look towards a more sovereign and sustainable future for their people. Those offering perspective include Chase Iron Eyes, Phyllis Young, Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, Tokata Iron Eyes, and Stuart James.
