Boulder City Library Literary Arts Fair
The library's annual Literary Arts Fair returns, with 19 Nevada writers discussing their work. In addition, the Boulder City Friends of the Library will hold a book sale in the basement and Dam Roast House and Browder Bookstore will bring a pop-up café to the Rotunda.
Among the offerings, Nevada Poet Laureate Shaun Griffin and Las Vegas author Douglas Unger, will host a conversation on “The New American West – Rural and Urban Perspectives” which will delve into such things as land use, water, greed, and preservation. Assistant Professor Dr. Katherine Walker will discuss “Shakespeare’s Strange Library: The Books that Shaped the Bard” and what we can learn about the language and culture of the premodern world.
For the aspiring writer, author S.G. Tasz will share how to “Become a Wizard of Word Count” and how you can draw inspiration from role playing games like Dungeons and Dragons. Boulder City wildlife biologist and scientific illustrator Tiffany Pereira will discuss “The Art of Science” and why art is so important in conveying scientific principles and bringing research to life.
