Two by Six – Sextets of Brahms & Dvořák

Orchestra
Feb. 2

What American society needs now is sweet chamber music. And the UNLV Chamber Music Society has you covered, with this performance of selected works by Brahms and Dvořák focusing on sextets, compositions created in a way that require only six musicians to play. Listeners can sit back and be soothed by the adagio interludes of Dvořák’s "Sextet in A Major," or be transported to the 19th century by the soaring violin solos of Brahms' String Sextet No. 1 in B-flat Major. 7:30-10p, $25, UNLV’s Lee and Thomas Beam Music Center, unlv.edu
