Happenstance: Dreaming of Mount Charleston

          – after Yi Lu

I am a branch

of snowflakes      sleep      remember      forget

eyes wide      like branches

heavy      round      night by night

like a moon full of sheep      counting

a branch of snowflakes      like wool      or knives

like a time too early      yesterday –

maps from fingerprints      one      after

another      pressed with forget
