Las Vegas will soon have its own museum of art after the city council on Wednesday secured land for the space.
The proposed 90,000 sq.-foot museum will be built on 1.5 acres of land in Symphony Park in the heart of downtown Las Vegas.
The museum is a partnership with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, alongside director Michael Govan and board co-chair Elaine Wynn, who co-founded Wynn Resorts.

Construction of the museum is expected to start no later than February 2027 and is estimated to generate $191 million in economic activity for Las Vegas (including $80 million in wages), the city said.
The project is estimated to cost $150 million.
