CCSD Candidate Wants To Ban Football In Schools

Russell Davis wants to get on the Clark County School District Board of School Trustees to push a ban on football in schools.

Davis, who is a soccer coach and has two children in public schools, says the evidence is overwhelming that collisions in football cause head injuries. Research is finding that years later, those injuries can cause serious mental health issues.

Davis is running for the seat in District C, currently held by Linda Young.

Davis also says he favors broadening sex education in the district, and is not in favor of decentralizing the district.

The Clark County School District is the fifth largest in the country with 330,000 students and 18,000 teachers.
