How would you describe yourself to voters?

I am passionate about ensuring that we have a diverse economy that meets the needs of Nevada families, a clean, sustainable climate, affordable and accessible heath care and world class education for Nevada students.

What do you see as the top issues in this campaign?

Economic Health, Accessible and Affordable Health Care and a World Class Education for Nevada's students

In your opinion, how would you rate the state’s response to the pandemic? Why?

There is no question that the pandemic has been devastating for Nevada's families. As a member of the hospitality industry, I saw the impact this had on Nevadans firsthand. Moving forward, we are more resilient and prepared in order to keep our state open, Nevadans employed and to keep our families safe. In the state senate, I will ensure we grow our tourism footprint while diversifying our economy to ensure that all Nevadans live in a state where they can live with purpose and abundance.

Education and local government officials have long asked lawmakers to change the way the state assesses property taxes. That includes raising the current tax threshold. Should lawmakers consider raising those thresholds? If not, what is the best way for governments to raise money for local programs?

As someone who is endorsed by Nevada's teachers (CCEA), I understand the need to fund our state's education system. As we continue to recover from the pandemic, I don't feel now is an appropriate time to raise taxes on working Nevadans or recovering businesses. I look forward to the Commission on School Funding's recommendations and working with community stakeholders to ensure that our students have access to a world class education.
