How would you describe yourself to voters?

I’m a leader; I make a positive impact on most people I meet every day. No, not all, just most. Registered Nurse.

Emergency room RN x 10 years - we save lives and deal with the worst suffering of people every day.

Paratrooper - US Army Combat veteran - we support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America and defend the rights of free people in our country and around the world.

Army Mustang - both enlisted and an officer - “Mustangs” have extreme experience in both leading and following - we listen better, too!

Commanded 72nd Military Police Company for three years - love cops and the show Blue Bloods - part of a great group that both serves and protects.

Resident of Nevada for more than 50 years - this is our State and we love it!

Department of Energy Science Bowl moderator x 20 years - we support and educate advanced and gifted junior high and high school students.

NTS Operations (now Nevada National Security Site) for 19 years - Technical Information Administrator, Authorized Derivative Classifier, Film Declassification Project manager, basically a Librarian like my Mom who was also an English Teacher. Love nuclear counter-terrorism support teams that keep our country safe.

What do you see as the top issues in this campaign?

Support Paris Climate Accords and agree that much more nuclear power is needed in the U.S. and Nevada can be a leader in Carbon Credits, like France- France is more than 70 percent nuclear powered! The opportunities for high paying jobs and career advancement for our youth are abundant with nuclear power. When we open Yucca Mountain and then get into recycling nuclear energy, we can help charge all those wonderful electric cars being made and developed now! Where do you think that electricity comes from? We’re only 20 percent nuclear powered in the U.S. and need to join France in clean nuclear power!

Education plan - I was part of the Valley High School team selected by principal Ron Montoya to work with the Clark County School District to fix the high failure to graduate rate. Learned we need to hold back all children in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade if they flunk. They must learn the basics of reading, writing and arithmetic before advancing to higher grades and before learning other subjects including the socially controversial ones now. We Must Teach kids how to learn! Then we must Teach them money management, how to make a budget, and give them hope for a great future! The basics are the most important start that must be required before a student advances. I’m already focused on the main election. Incumbent Dondero-Loop is a teacher and has failed to legislate effective results for Nevada. The only effective way to judge something is based on results and we’re almost last in the nation in education. We need drastic, effective, measurable changes in our education system requirements.

All men are created equal - then we start going to school and playing sports (Me, 2021.) People get paid based on how many people they impact and influence; sports stars and nationwide leaders get paid more than most lower paying jobs because of that. Learned and demonstrated skills and responsibilities also add to our value and what we get paid, hence professional electricians usually make more money than dishwashers. Let’s teach our kids lifetime success habits!

Crime - it’s time to protect innocent people and the medical and police staff serving and protecting others. The last legislation moved crime from three strikes and you’re out to seven strikes and you’re out. Crime has hugely escalated since then.

I have a big heart for good people and a very hard heart against criminals. My plan - first and second time offenders - educate and train and attempt rehabilitation. Chronic, repeat offenders have shown they won’t be productive members of society. They prey on innocent victims. So, they get taken out of society so they can’t hurt innocent people again. Third time violent felons get taken out permanently and get to donate their bodies back to society to help the sick and infirm. And so, they never ever never get to hurt someone again.

In your opinion, how would you rate the state’s response to the pandemic? Why?

Poor. Shutting down small and large businesses hurt far many more than it helped. The original plan was to shut down and wear masks for two weeks, then two months to “flatten out the curve” of how many got sick and how many died. Because it’s an airborne viral disease, the same number of casualties was going to occur, just over a longer period of time, hence the flattened curve. Also, the decision to not allow pharmacies to distribute prescribed medications like hydroxychloroquine, was really stupid. As a medical professional, I know its anti-inflammatory effects saved my own and others lives before more advanced medicines were developed and made available like monoclonal antibodies and Remdesivir. Stopping the Covid inner-body inflammatory storm saved lives and that’s what hydroxychloroquine does, including every day for people with Lupus and other autoimmune disorders. Just like other dual-use medications do. For example, we use aspirin for pain and fever relief, and also as a stroke preventer for cardiac patients with atrial fibrillation. What the heck was the governor thinking blocking medical doctor decisions?

Education and local government officials have long asked lawmakers to change the way the state assesses property taxes. That includes raising the current tax threshold. Should lawmakers consider raising those thresholds? If not, what is the best way for governments to raise money for local programs?

No. First, raise available money by stopping spending on in-needed programs, and there are too many to list here. Second, have full accountability of where the money for education is going. Reducing the number of wasteful administrative expenditures and ensuring money goes directly to classroom-related expenditures also makes for more available money. Also, don’t spend money on duplicate efforts at the local, county, and state level.
