How would you describe yourself to voters?

I am a highly motivated citizen of Nevada ready to work for positive changes reflecting the needs of District 39. I want to balance Rural Nevada needs with the amazing lifestyle offered in our District.

What do you see as the top issues in this campaign?

Kitchen table issues of economy, immigration, climate crisis, access to quality education and healthcare.

In your opinion, how would you rate the state’s response to the pandemic? Why?

I believe the state did the best that was possible given the many unknown facts about this new and mutating virus. The goal was to protect our population, provide answers as they were available and keep people out of the hospital. Are there things we might have done differently in hindsight, of course. We are better prepared if we are faced with another highly contagious virus with what we have learned from this one.

Education and local government officials have long asked lawmakers to change the way the state assesses property taxes. That includes raising the current tax threshold. Should lawmakers consider raising those thresholds? If not, what is the best way for governments to raise money for local programs?

Many factors must be taken into consideration when raising the current tax threshold. I believe a thorough analysis of this issue is in order, taking into account the disproportionate impacts on all citizens. More funding is needed for education of our children and support for our healthcare system, of that there is not doubt. Raising the tax threshold is a serious endeavor for our citizens and should be thoroughly examined.
