Jaunt Ryan: A hole lotta green

Calling Kershaw-Ryan State Park an oasis is an understatement. The small gorge, just south of Caliente, is green from canyon wall to canyon wall. Permanent springs water the lush vegetation and fresh water continually fills a wading pool set amid manicured lawns and creeping ivies. Nearby is an area set aside for picturesque weddings. For a family-friendly getaway, Kershaw-Ryan has a newly renovated 15-site campground that is as immaculate as the rest of the park. ( parks.nv.gov)
