Sisolak Hints At Special Session, Promises Protesters Reform

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — After eight straight nights of protests, Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak has vowed to address systemic racism when the state Legislature convenes.

Sisolak hinted Friday he is working with state leaders to schedule a special session. With Attorney General Aaron Ford and Democratic lawmakers at his side, Sisolak voiced support for protesters decrying the deaths of black Americans at the hands of the police.

The onset of coronavirus and subsequent tax revenue loss previously spurred calls for a special session.
