Man Wielding A Sword Is Fatally Shot By Las Vegas Police

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police in Las Vegas say a man armed with a sword was fatally shot after allegedly advancing toward officers.

The name and age of the man weren't immediately released. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police say the man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

They say the man lunged at officers while police were trying to de-escalate a disturbance call at an apartment. Arriving officers say there was a man on the second floor of the building waving a sword.

Police say the man began to approach the officers when he was shot and killed. They say the shooting is under investigation.
