Nevada To Get More Ventilators As Virus Spreads, Need Grows

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Gov. Steve Sisolak says Nevada's use of ventilators has grown as more coronavirus cases have been reported, with 44% of the state's ventilators in use.

The Democratic governor said Monday night that he's asked the federal government for 450 of the machines, which help struggling patients breathe, as the state expects to see more cases and hospitalizations.

The governor's comments came less than an hour after the White House announced Nevada would get 100 ventilators from California, which is loaning them to other states.
