Las Vegas Driver For Child Rideshare Firm Faces Charges

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A driver for a child-oriented rideshare company is accused of having unlawful contact with a 13-year-old girl he transported to a Las Vegas-area middle school.

Police on Tuesday announced Ranier Braga had been arrested Friday. Braga was not asked Wednesday to enter a plea to misdemeanor charges that included luring a minor.

A judge characterized comments police say Braga made to the girl as disturbing, if true, and inappropriate. A prosecutor and Braga's court-appointed lawyer both acknowledged that Braga had no criminal history.
