LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police in North Las Vegas say officers investigating a sexual assault complaint shot and killed a fleeing 37-year-old man who crashed a car into several police vehicles outside a home where investigators found another person dead inside.
Details of the fatal police shooting on Monday weren't made public in a department statement announcing a press briefing would be held Thursday.
The Clark County coroner did not immediately identify the man shot by police or the person found in the home in the downtown neighborhood near North Fifth Street and East Lake Mead Boulevard.
Police say the suspect in the sexual assault fled the residence, got into the car and began ramming police vehicles before officers shot him.
Officers later found an adult victim dead in a bedroom in the home.
