Passenger traffic at McCarran International Airport was up year-over-year this past August.
Data released Thursday by the Clark County Department of Aviation say passenger totals increased by about 61,000 people compared to August of last year.
Low-cost Spirit Airlines had the biggest increase in traffic year-over-year … the carrier had about 74,000 more passengers this past August compared to August 2017.
The airport's leader in traffic, Southwest, saw a slight dip in passengers, as did American Airlines.
Domestic traffic, in general, is up nearly 1 percent from August 2017 – or about 30,000 people.
International travel up by more than 22,000 people or nearly 7 percent.
Overall, traffic at McCarran is up nearly three percent compared to last year.
