A student at Palo Verde High School was arrested today after a gun was found in his backpack.
An administrator found a 9-millimeter gun and ammunition in the student’s backpack around 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
The gun was unloaded and the student had not made any threats. School police are still investigating why the student had a gun at school.

The student will be charged with possession of a dangerous weapon on school property, and will likely be expelled.
