SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Federal authorities are looking into at least 23 cases of alleged civil rights violations involving Utah elementary and high schools.
The Salt Lake City Tribune reportsthe U.S. Department of Education recently released a searchable database of ongoing cases that listed seven elementary and high school districts in Utah.
The K-12 entries contain limited details, but show the date a case was opened, the school district it was filed against and the complaint's nature.
Salt Lake City School District and Provo School District have the most open cases, with nine and six complaints, respectively.
Salt Lake City School District spokesman Jason Olsen is cooperating with the federal Office of Civil Rights.
Provo School District spokesman Caleb Price says a complaint was filed against the head coach of a school.
