Renewable energy advocates in the state, as well as some state lawmakers, are decrying President Donald Trump’s decision to impose a 30 percent import tariff on solar equipment made abroad.
Nevada’s 2017 Legislative Session saw a number of bipartisan measures designed to support and expand the state’s renewable energy economy.
Assemblyman Chris Brooks led many of those efforts, including AB 405 which is largely credited with returning rooftop solar companies to the state.

Brooks said in a statement Tuesday that the Trump Administration action threatens the state’s energy economy and the thousands of jobs that go along with it.
